Manado Diving Budget & Best Time
Planning a dive trip involves balancing the best conditions with your budget. Manado offers outstanding value compared to many other world-class dive destinations, with year-round warm water and excellent marine biodiversity regardless of when you visit.
Best season
March through November is the prime diving season in Manado. During these months the seas are generally calm, visibility is at its best — often exceeding 25 metres — and conditions are ideal for both Bunaken's walls and Lembeh's critter dives.
December through February brings the wet season, with more frequent rain and occasionally rougher surface conditions. Diving is still possible and the reefs are just as rich, but conditions can be less predictable. Water temperature remains warm year-round, ranging from 26°C to 29°C, so no thick wetsuit is needed regardless of when you travel.
If flexibility is an option, travelling in the shoulder months of March or November can offer a good balance of reliable conditions and fewer crowds.
